Update re: all registration processes and in-person classes

by Amanda Morris -

Beginning tomorrow, Monday, October 26th, all classes will return to their pre cyber attack schedules including on-ground in-person classes.  Please note however; that online registration will be postponed to later this week.  Once the start date for online registration is determined, we will let you know.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I am happy to report that beginning today, Wednesday 10/21, all classes will be in session.  For the remainder of the week; however, on-campus classes will be conducted exclusively through the usual Zoom or Teams platforms found on the Moodle page of your class.  Students, faculty, and staff will need to use a temporary network name and password to connect to the Wi-Fi and internet.  On-campus students should seek direction from RAs or staff on campus.  Staff and faculty will receive passwords from supervisors.  Other systems may still be affected, so employees should check with supervisors about their individual work arrangements.  Thank you for your patience.

Due to the continued interruption of our network, on-ground classes are cancelled Tuesday, October 20th.  Offices, however, will be open and BUonline courses will be in session.

While we have experienced considerable disruption, we have no reason to believe that any of our data has been compromised.  That being said, it is generally considered good cyber hygiene for everyone to periodically change passwords to all programs, websites, and apps.

Through our insurance company, we have a team of cyber experts working with our IT staff to resolve this issue and to get classes back in session as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience.
